A Special Conference

My dad is one of my biggest heros. I look up to him in so many ways. He so wise and teaches me so much everytime I'm with him. He has such a deep rooted testimony of the gospel and I hope to one day be able to grasp many gospel concepts as he does.
I was so grateful to have the opportunity to take my dad to General Conference for his first time. He has never had an opportunity to actually attend conferenceas he has lived just far enough away that it hasn't been possible for him yet. I am very blessed to have a husband with certain connections that make it possible for me to attend everytime if I want. I hope to never take that for granted.

Birthday Boy!

Josh celebrated his 9th birthday yesterday. I can't believe how fast time flies. He is such a good kid. Josh is our resident rule follower. He is very conscientious of right and wrong and has such a desire to choose the right. He is usually the first to make his bed, get dressed, comb his hair, clean his room and get his chores done before I even have to ask. Josh always says his prayers without having to be reminded and quite often he reminds us to have family prayer. He has alot of great friends which is, I'm sure, due to the fact that he is a good friend. I am so grateful to be his mom.

For his birthday party, we were able to take him and 5 of his friends to Sparetime for his birthday party. They got to play a game of bowling, a game of laser tag and eat pizza. Then we came home and ate bowling pin cupcakes and ice cream, jumped on the tramp and played basketball in the front yard. What a fun bunch of kids. I think they all had a great time.

Dang Snow!

Ok, I just have to vent my frustrations a little. Honestly, I normally don't mind the snow. I'm always in for a good snowball fight or building a snowfort. But right now I need to train for my races this summer and the weather is just not cooporating!

I really don't like running on the treadmill at the community center. It's hot and stuffy and boring. And I really don't like running outside in the freezing wind or rain or snow. I know, I know. Picky, picky, picky. But wouldn't it just be nice for spring to come (and stay?) so that running outside would be not only possible, but enjoyable?

Just a thought.
